Packing Emotional Tools Before We Need Them

Reflection

After years of managing reactive moments—in students and in myself—I’ve come to understand that the skills we need in rough moments must be learned and practiced during the good ones. Just as we pack for a camping trip before we arrive at the campsite, emotional regulation skills need to be in place before the mean comment, before we make a mistake, and before the unlucky moments show up. Preparation, not perfection, is what helps us recover more quickly and with more compassion.

What We Are Exploring This Month

I’ll be sharing weekly ideas on YouTube—nothing fancy, just thoughtful practices meant to support real people in real moments.
